Weserstraße is located in the eastern part of Friedrichshain and the street has mostly old buildings to offer. The area is a quiet residential one and the streets are tree-lined with large walkways. Apart from the main streets you’ll find quietness surrounded by renovated old-buildings. Boxhagener Platz, also called Boxi, is a place which is known Berlin-wide and only a few meters away from Weserstraße. This is a place, where you can meet up, let your children play at the playground or make your groceries on Saturday’s market. There are a few more parks and green places in the area but the most worthy ones to take a walk are the Spree or the south-east located Rummelsburger Bucht. Here you can find pure restfulness. The area around Weserstraße got an optimal connection to the public transport system. You can easily reach the S- or U-Bahn by foot and both of these will transport you to every place in the city. From the main junctions Frankfurter Tor or Warschauer Straße you’ll get to the main line station Ostbahnhof or to the airport Schönefeld in no time. The quality of life in and around Weserstraße is heavily revalued trough the shopping street Frankfurter Allee with all its small shops and the Ring-center, a huge shopping mall. The shopping street is the extension of the Karl-Marx-Allee, which leads directly to Berlin-Mitte. If you take a little look outside of your neighborhood, you’ll notice some fantastic parks around as the huge Tierpark, the Treptower Park or the eastern-located Landschaftspark Herzberge. The neighborhood of Friedrichshain is currently the place to be. There are quiet areas, but there are also a ton of good cafés and restaurants which will offer you a wide range of specialties of each country. A few galleries and cinemas as well as the Mercedes-Benz Arena will make your spare time activities even more pleasant.
