A quick walk from the "Lichtenberg" rapid-transit station will take you to Zachertstrasse, a quiet residential street with a rich stock of trees and a homogeneous façade line of Belle Époque buildings or listed residential buildings from the 1930s. Raised in 1900, the four-storey multi-family dwelling at Zachertstrasse 8 consists of a front building plus side building which are grouped around a quiet inner courtyard. It is a great place for spending quiet hours in the heart of the city! The classic period building blends harmoniously with the streetscape, and underlines the special ambience of the quarter. Even the stairwell still features typical elements of a Berlin period building, such as original wooden hand railings and painted wall tiles. The well-appointed residential building divides into flats of 1 to 4 bedrooms and about 23 to 85 square metres. The flats in the upper storeys come with balcony, which is the perfect place for taking it easy during the summer months. Many of the well-preserved and well-laid-out flats still feature the original plaster ornaments and preserved board floors. Most bathrooms, which get natural light, are tiled and equipped with bathtubs, while a selected few come with shower only. The bright and spacious kitchens provide ample room for a dining table, and pantries annexed to the kitchens provide extra storage space in many of the flats. Form your own opinion about this charming period building at Zachertstrasse 8 in the peaceful Weitlingkiez neighbourhood of Lichtenberg.
