ACCENTRO and the City of Oer-Erkenschwick Agree on a Fresh Start for the Klemm Triangle

Berlin, February 26, 2026 – ACCENTRO Real Estate AG and the city of Oer-Erkenschwick have launched a structured relaunch of the Klemm-Dreieck development. During a face-to-face meeting at the Bundestag building in Berlin, ACCENTRO CEO Jörg Neuß, ACCENTRO project manager Ali Trabzadah, and Shoaiub Nazir, the mayor of Oer-Erkenschwick, agreed on the next steps for the central downtown area.

ACCENTRO owns significant portions of the Klemm Triangle and remains firmly committed to its development. “We recognize the urban planning significance of this area and are ready to take the next steps together with the city of Oer-Erkenschwick,” explains Jörg Neuß. At the same time, the company is taking an open-ended approach: In addition to the possibility of independent project development, a sale is also being considered—provided it makes economic and structural sense—in order to get the project moving.

Mayor Shoaiub Nazir welcomed ACCENTRO’s clear commitment to the site. The company reaffirmed its interest in development while also signaling openness to cooperative or alternative solutions. Both sides agreed to intensify their dialogue and, going forward, to evaluate the project’s status on a monthly basis and define the next steps for implementation.

During the discussion, Nazir emphasized that the site plays a key role for the city center and that a sustainable vision is necessary. At the same time, he indicated that he would personally advocate for the swift establishment of the planning and permitting requirements necessary for implementation.

“Stagnation helps no one—neither the city nor the site,” said Neuß. “We want to work with the municipality to arrive at a viable and feasible solution. This requires reliability on both sides—both economically and legally.”

Another in-person meeting is planned for the summer. The goal is to establish a solid basis for decision-making regarding the future of the Klemm Triangle before the end of the year.
