Building features:

After extensive building renovation in close coordination with monument preservation and modern standards, Riehmers Hofgarten now shines in new splendor. In the community of the ensemble, both residents and owners benefit from the attractive courtyard garden, which offers landscaped paths, picnic areas, a boules court, and a playground, providing tranquility, encounters, and entertainment. Additional convenience is provided by access to covered stroller and bicycle parking spaces, as well as the underground garage accessible through the courtyard garden.

The eleven building entrances are named after the offspring of the Hohenzollern dynasty. Accordingly, in Großbeerenstraße 56 F, you can access a rented apartment on the fourth floor via the staircase of entrance Friedrich. With three rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, and balcony on 129 sqm, it is an attractive capital investment that benefits from the high value of the refurbished monument ensemble.

From the hallway, you can reach the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Just to the right behind the entrance door is the spacious bedroom, measuring 31 sqm. You can access it, as well as the living room, through French doors from the hallway. The living room, located in the heart of the apartment, is generously sized at 40 square meters. From here, you can reach the third room, which offers ample space at 24 sqm and has a balcony overlooking the courtyard. In the western area, there is the 13 sqm kitchen and a bathroom with a tub, measuring 6 sqm, both equipped with windows. The apartment also includes a cellar compartment.

Other Information

It is a gem from the Wilhelmine era and enriches Berlin as an outstanding architectural monument: Riehmer's Hofgarten.

Courage and visionary dedication once inspired Wilhelm Riehmer to defy urban planning standards as a builder in favor of upscale living quality. Instead of dense housing development around narrow backyards, the master mason had a magnificent ensemble built on his site in 1891/92, which elegantly wraps around a park-like garden.

The neo-baroque buildings and the outdoor facilities were largely renovated with attention to detail and care for the preservation of historical monuments. The proud facades present themselves with a bright structure. House and apartment doors, windows and stair railings were refurbished to match the original design. On the intermediate levels, partially exposed frescoes bear witness to the artistic aesthetics of the period of origin.

In order to meet cultivated demands, contemporary quality was perfectly integrated. The lighting as well as the bell systems complete the authentic design with high-quality technology. The water supply and disposal lines as well as heating and electrical installations were partly optimized or renewed.

Location

In global city rankings, Berlin has been among the top ten for years. Complex cultural events, an engaging way of life, and a unique history have earned the metropolis its global renown. It motivates millions of visitors every year to come to Berlin to see for themselves. Over the past decade, about 400,000 of them were so captivated by the city that they decided to stay for good.

To be sure, a high level of liveability makes it easy to fall in love with Berlin. But the city has so much more to offer. As a science hub, Berlin offers skills and knowledge in just about any scientific field you can think of. Moreover, Germany’s capital of start-up businesses has developed an economic dynamic that attracts companies from inside and outside the country. Its location in the European heartland recommends it as place of business every bit as much as its ability to provide high-skilled graduates and its proximity to the start-up scene with its innovative potential for prospering businesses of tomorrow.

In Kreuzberg, the impulsive energy of young generations is keenly felt and reflected in up-and-coming trends. Aside from this district’s centrality and legendary hipness, life here is defined by a highly productive cultural scene and by creative diversity. Especially the Bergmannstrasse has enormous appeal. Every store here is one of a kind—whether it sells wine, pastry or coffee, antique junk, designer artefacts or vintage goods by the pound, gourmet dog food, vegan takeaway food or famous sausages—while the space in between is dotted with cinemas, theatres and churches that occasionally double as concert halls. All of this embedded in a historic setting of streets that are testimony to the cultural heritage of the city. Viktoriapark, Gleisdreieck Park or the vast grasslands of the former Tempelhof airport grounds provide plenty of outdoor space for local recreation and leisure activities.
