Certificate of Completion

A certificate of self-containedness is an official document issued by the competent building authority that confirms that an apartment or part of an apartment constitutes a self-contained residential unit. The certificate contains information on the physical dimensions of the self-contained unit as well as its location within the building. This also ensures that an apartment can be remodeled or combined with another unit without the consent of other owners. Together with the division plan, it is a prerequisite for dividing a building into condominium ownership and/or fractional ownership and is required for the registration of the residential units in the land registry.
