ACCENTRO Doubles Its Portfolio in North Rhine-Westphalia Once Again

Berlin, December 10, 2020 – ACCENTRO Real EstateAG , a residential real estate investor and Germany’s leading residential privatization company, is significantly expanding its real estate portfolio in the major German metropolitan region of the Rhine-Ruhr. The acquired portfolio comprises 166 units in the cities of Duisburg, Krefeld, and Hagen and has a leasable area of approximately 13,000 square meters. With this acquisition, the company is nearly doubling its real estate portfolio in North Rhine-Westphalia to 355 units.

“We are developing ACCENTRO into a German residential investor that, in addition to its traditional privatization business, is building its own portfolio and capitalizing on opportune opportunities. Having already acquired a real estate portfolio in Duisburg and Essen this summer, this acquisition once again significantly strengthens our presence in the important Rhine-Ruhr region,” commented Lars Schriewer, CEO of ACCENTRO Real Estate AG. With more than ten million residents, it is Germany’s most populous metropolitan region.

The acquired portfolio is nearly fully leased and is located in a central downtown area. The portfolio also offers good development potential, which ACCENTRO will leverage to further improve the quality of living for existing and new tenants.

Lars Schriewer adds: “Despite the difficult circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to acquire 3,482 units this year with a total leasable area of approximately 230,000 square meters. In doing so, we have further expanded our company’s presence in key regions such as Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, several metropolitan regions in eastern Germany, and Berlin, and have more than doubled our real estate portfolio to 5,200 units. These units form the foundation for continuing our successful growth trajectory.”
