Berlin, December 29, 2020 – ACCENTRO Real EstateAG is acquiring DIM Holding AG (“Deutsche Immobilien Management”). The purchase agreement was signed today. DIM is one of the leading real estate managers, with approximately 130 employees at seven locations in Germany, and manages residential and commercial real estate portfolios in Germany. The company currently has approximately 2.8 billion euros in assets under management, with a total area of approximately 1.4 million square meters, and manages approximately 18,500 residential units.
With this move, ACCENTRO is reaching another important milestone in its efforts to further advance its transformation into a residential investor and property owner, alongside its current core business of privatization. Having recently more than doubled its residential real estate portfolio to 5,200 residential units through the acquisition of approximately 2,800 residential units, ACCENTRO plans to further expand its activities not only in Berlin and eastern Germany, but also in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Rhine-Main region, and Bavaria, where ACCENTRO already holds properties in its portfolio.
“We want to gradually expand ACCENTRO’s residential real estate portfolio and, as a result, increasingly operate as a long-term landlord independent of our privatization portfolio. To this end, it is a logical next step to have a property management company—a local partner with market expertise, close contact with tenants, and in-depth technical knowledge of the properties under management,” explains Lars Schriewer, CEO of ACCENTRO Real Estate AG. “In DIM, we have found an established company with tremendous expertise, which forms the foundation for maintaining and growing the value of our existing properties,” adds Schriewer.
