In a quiet location in Schöneiche, a leafy suburb of Berlin, a modern single-family detached home with a dwelling floor area of around 124 square metres and convenient floor plan is under development as part of the KÄTHE project. The dwelling floor area is spread across ground floor and one upper floor. The detached home comes with a spacious patio that is perfect for taking it easy in the sun or for having a barbecue with family and friends. Floors in the flats will consist of high-end oak parquetry, investing interiors with a particularly warm and welcoming character. The house is equipped with cosy underfloor heating. Floor-length windows admit plenty of light into the building, and upstairs windows feature balconettes. The vinyl-frame windows are triple-glazed, film-coated on one side and fitted with electric aluminium blinds for convenient shading of the rooms. The open-plan eat-in kitchen satisfies today’s expectations in modern living and is a great place for gregarious evenings with family and friends. The kitchen area and the tub- and shower-equipped bathroom are appealingly tiled, as is the guest bathroom. A utility room for extra convenience can be used to store a variety of household appliances. The plot has an overall area of about 600 square metres and includes a proprietary car parking spot as well as a waste bin area and a large garden for good times spent outdoors. A paved walkway leads up to the single-family detached home. Schöneiche, a town of 12,500 residents in the District of Oder-Spree, straddles the eastern city limits of Berlin on the Brandenburg side. The town is characterised by a diversified economic structure, a rich residential ambience and a high degree of liveability. The immediate neighbourhood is defined by dense forest, numerous small and scenic swimming lakes and watercourses. These are located primarily in nature protection areas. In addition to the many swimming lakes around Schöneiche, dense woodlands lend themselves to extended walks and other outdoor activities. A park facility called Kleiner Spreewald Park within the town limits features dry and wetland habitats rich in animal wildlife and traversed by narrow trails and bridges, and is a popular day-trip destination for families and school classes. In particular, children love romping around the large outdoor playground. A cultural centre called Kulturgiesserei doubles as third place that welcomes anyone who is interested in the arts or socially committed. The house serves as meeting place for artists and cultural workers. Minor highlights include Schlosskirche, a former church, the Raufutterspeicher architectural monument and the heritage area of the Dorfaue village green, all of which are popular destinations for bicycle trips from the city. The town and its greater area offer a number of preschools, elementary schools and a music school, but the infrastructure amenities for families also include secondary schools. Schöneiche is linked to the rapid transit stations "Berlin-Rahnsdorf" and "Erkner" by the bus line 161 that is operated by Berlin’s transport authority. Another bus line connects Schöneiche with the town of Erkner via Woltersdorf. The nearest motorway junction is "Rüdersdorf" providing access to the eastern part of Berlin’s A10 orbital motorway.
