The five-storey apartments buildings on Silberstein- and Hertastrasse are located in Neukölln, one of Berlin's most diversified boroughs. The ensemble of buildings was raised as terraced development in 1930. The sunny apartments of 1 to 4 bedrooms range from roughly 49 to 87 square metres, and most come with tub-equipped bathrooms. They make perfect homes for singles, couples, families, and are conducive to forming a close-knit co-housing community. The façade was repainted in a warm grey hue in 2015/2016. Work done on the property included the refurbishment of windows and roof terraces. By summer of 2017, the hallways of the houses will have been repainted in a new colour scheme, and the playground on the court side will have been overhauled. The balconies and flats will overlook the tranquil sanctuary of the backyard. The flats are heated via gas-powered central heating units. Cubicles in the basement provide additional storage space to the tenants. Silbersteinstrasse is located in the vibrant borough of Neukölln, close to the rapid transit circle line. It is therefore conveniently connected to the public transportation network. Just three minutes of walking will take you to the -Hermannstrasse- rapid transit and underground station, with its service connections to Alexanderplatz or Friedrichstrasse, among other destinations. The area around Silbersteinstrasse has an excellent and culturally diversified infrastructure. It is characterised by a wide variety of Turkish and Asian stores, as well as by a number of convenience stores in the immediate vicinity. If you relish a historically evolved neighbourhood flair, you will quickly fit in - and love all the little cafés, restaurants, clubs, galleries and cultural events such as stage plays or readings. But even if you are more of an outdoors person, this urban borough has plenty of green areas in store. Close at hand, for instance, is the vast expanse of Tempelhofer Feld. The former airport grounds offer endless possibilities for outdoor activities, including walking, bicycling, inline skating or just lounging on the grass, having a picnic and taking it easy. Other green areas in the vicinity include the grassy banks of the Spree River at Plänterwald and Treptower Park as well as the rolling parklands of Volkspark Hasenheide.
