The multi-unit dwelling at Marchwitzastrasse 25-27 lies near the largest connected housing estate of detached homes in Germany, embedded in greenery. Residents live in direct proximity to Heinz-Graffunder-Park here which features multiple lawned areas, a playground and benches. Set on beautiful grounds, the residential building is accessed via two separate entranceways. A lift is available in either entranceway, providing convenient access to the apartments. Large windows, indoor mail boxes and a well-appointed, brightly coloured linoleum flooring offer a warm welcome to residents and visitors. Not just the staircases, but the entire property is up to present-day standards because of periodic refurbishments and upgrades. Over the years, the roof, the balconies, the central heating system and the lifts were modernised. Inside the ten-storey residential building, which was constructed in classic modular design during the 1980s, apartments with flexible floorplans are now for sale. Most of the dwellings come with spacious balconies that provide ample space to try your hand at gardening, as well as a lovely view of the greenery in the vicinity. The actual condominiums have amazingly optimised floor plans. The residential floor area range starts as low as 35 square metres for a studio flat with combined living/bedroom area, to the 2-room layout variant with 48 to 52 square metres of dwelling floor area, all the way to the 3 and 4-room layout variants of 70 and 90 square metres, respectively. All of the apartments have separate kitchens, tiled windowless bathrooms; the majority of which are both shower- and tub-equipped. Urbanites craving a little more freedom to move, open space and greenery in their day-to-day affairs will find Marchwitzastrasse the perfect place to feel at ease. Expansive green spaces, an intact neighbourhood culture and local amenities as well as healthcare options within walking distance set the scene. Particularly neat for families is an adequate spectrum of day nurseries and schools plus optimal transportation access to the inner city. Parklands at Heinz-Graffunder-Park complete with playground and sports facilities are practically at your doorstep here. Formed by merging the villages of Biesdorf, Marzahn, Hellersdorf, Kaulsdorf and Mahlsdorf 40 years ago, Marzahn-Hellersdorf is Berlin’s youngest borough and offers a diversified settlement structure on around 60 square kilometres in the north-east corner of the city. The borough is firmly committed to its -green city- mission statement and, with roughly 18 percent green areas, has a substantially higher share of local recreational areas than the citywide average. The creation of the -Gardens of the World- on occasion of the city’s 750th anniversary added fascinating floral landscapes, watercourses and internationally themed garden to the Marzahn recreational park. From the "Wolkenhain" observation platform on top of Kienberg, you can see as far as the Wuhletal landscape park and the parklands of Biesdorf Manor, Bürgerpark and Hochzeitspark at Quartier Mehrower Allee. Several attractions were added to Kienbergpark ahead of the International Horticultural Show of 2017: In addition to the Tropical Hall, new hiking trails, playgrounds and a lakeside plateau, Berlin’s only aerial cable car started operating between Hellersdorfer Strasse and Blumberger Damm, with a stop on top of Kienberg. Today, Europe’s largest connected housing estate of multi-unit dwellings and detached homes is just as much part of the expanding district of Marzahn as its skyline of refurbished prefab tower blocks.
