At first glance, the Berlin district of Wedding seems to be a place of contrasts, but at second sight, they come together to form a colorful mosaic. And the word "colorful" could not apply better to it as one of the liveliest, cultural neighborhoods in Berlin. A diverse mix of stores from various supermarkets to greengrocers to Turkish bakeries and various cafes and snack bars illustrate the diverse mix of residents. In addition to the Gesundbrunnen Center with more than 100 stores, there are small fashion studios or a bookstore with a café as a cultural meeting place in the side streets. The leisure opportunities are as varied as the gastronomic and business offerings: from gyms and swimming pools to the Labyrinth children's museum and a family library to cultural highlights in the Uferstudios or the Alhambra cinema, there is something for everyone in Wedding. Almost everything can be found in the immediate vicinity and is easy to reach on foot or by streetcar, bus and subway. Almost inconspicuously, the little river Panke runs through the neighborhood on foot from Osloer Straße and invites you to go for a walk or jog along its banks with foot and bike paths. Just a little further away, the nearby Volkspark Humboldthain offers hours of green space in the middle of the city or, during the warmer months, you can enjoy the sun in the summer pool there. From the observation tower in the park you have a magnificent view over the city. Wedding - the northernmost part of Berlin Mitte and in the direct neighborhood of the trendy Prenzlauer Berg district - is one of Berlin's up-and-coming neighborhoods. Young people in particular are drawn here because of its ideal location and cultural coexistence. As a former traditional working-class district, with large modernist housing estates in the west and north and in part a lot of greenery, the district is currently undergoing a real structural change. The industrial district is gradually developing into a future location for science and technology. One example of the transformation is the former Tegel Airport, which is becoming the "Urban Tech Republic," a campus for urban technologies including an industrial park and with space for thousands of employees, students, companies and apartments. The proximity to the clinic campus of the Charité, the Beuth University of Applied Sciences with around 12,500 students, and the many planned new construction projects also give Wedding a valuable character with enormous potential for the future.
